Mutliple studies stress on the importance of Free Play for kids. In order to develop socially, emotionally and cognitively, children need plenty of unstructured free play – in other words, lots of old-fashioned free playtime, says a report by ‘The American Academy of Pediatrics, called “The Importance of Play in Promoting Healthy Child Development and Maintaining Strong Parent-Child Bonds”.
Too many children today miss out on ‘Free Play’ because their parents, in a bid to help them do well, send them to several classes and encourage them to take part in “development activities”. Several pediatricians, says the report, are finding that some children are becoming stressed as they are not getting enough ‘downtime’.
The ‘Free Play’ concept allows kids to explore, experience and develop. A well-designed indoor playground provides countless activities that can consume the child’s imagination for hours. Children are encouraged to move, think and solve problems and interact with others. Besides coordination and muscular development, children can further develop imagination, creativity as well as enhance confidence.
